How Blazer Torches Are Actually Making Dab Torches Exciting
You don’t have to be a pyromaniac to feel a distinct thrill when you hold your brand new dab torch for the first time. Hey, you’re holding a controlled dispenser of intensely scorching flame… how can that feel anything but cool? But the novelty of wielding fire quickly loses its luster; especially when you’re having to deal with misfires, butane spills, and the high cost of maintaining a gas guzzling torch. While it may seem like a good torch is hard to find, Blazer torches have risen through the ranks to become the name in dab torch technology. But what makes the Blazer torch so special?
A Note About Different Blazer Torch Models
Before we delve into paragraphs of praise for Blazer torches, we should point out that the brand offers several different models. We prefer some to others, but Blazer consistently brings the quality in our experience. We’re partial to the Big Shot line, but we love the Big Buddy too and carry both. We’ll break down the differences between these two dab torch designs later, but first we’re going to take a look at all of the ways Blazer torches in general are worth your excitement.
A U.S. Design with Japanese Craftsmanship
While every Blazer torch is designed in the U.S., the manufacturing all goes down in Japan where skilled technicians use their discerning experience to build a product with reliable integrity. While this may not seem like a big deal, you’ll notice the difference if you’re used to smashing that ignite button only for your torch to misfire. The Blazer torch won’t do you like that. Assuming you’ve got the butane, you can count on a steady, powerful flame every time you pull the trigger. That Japanese craftsmanship is also a reason why the Blazer torch lasts so much longer than lesser dab torch models.
Fill ‘Er Up
While most dab torches allow you to replace the butane when it’s running low, they don’t always make this a simple, straightforward process. Blazer torches offer one of the easiest ways to top off your torch. Simply flip the gas flow to the off position, turn your torch over and you’ll find a tiny valve in the base of the torch that can accommodate the nozzle of your butane canister. Then you can dispense your butane directly into the dab torch. It couldn’t get any simpler, but Blazer have a video on how to refill the butane in your Blazer torch for all the visual learners out there. With some torches requiring separate tools to access the butane chamber, Blazer offer one of the most convenient solutions to refillable butane.
A Sipper Instead of a Guzzler
Speaking of butane, gas guzzling dab torches can really kill the mood of an otherwise fresh sesh, even driving some people to adopting an e-rig as their daily driver. We get it; gas ain’t cheap. Fortunately, the Blazer is a sophisticated torch, opting to sip on that butane instead of glugging it. In fact, you can blast a Blazer torch at maximum heat and still count on a solid 35 minutes of continuous use until a filled butane tank is depleted. This may not seem impressive to those of you new to dabbing, but depending on how heavy and often you fire it up, a butane tank could last you weeks. Most people upgrading to a Blazer torch will notice the butane conservation which helps keep that bank account healthy.
A Feeling of Mastery Goes a Long Way
Control is a paramount feature in a quality dab torch and Blazer brings plenty of it. While all the models are renowned for how well they can hold a steady flame in all sorts of conditions, certain Blazer models feature anti-flare brass nozzles for safer, more predictable dispensing that gives you that added peace of mind when dabbing with heady glass pieces. Plus, that level of control just feels a lot cooler than an unpredictable torch.
The Blazer Big Shot GT8000 Torch
The Blazer Big Shot GT8000 is our favorite dab torch from the Blazer line… and we’re definitely not alone in our opinion. Boasting temperatures that reach 2,500°F and a flame that can be as lengthy as 5 inches and as tiny as 1 ¼”, you can count on the Blazer Big Shot effortlessly handling any dabbing setup you could possibly throw its way. Depending on your banger situation, the Big Shot could have you fully heated and ready to go in as little as 10 seconds. If you’re new to wielding a dab torch, the Big Shot is an excellent choice, offering the simplicity of basic controls with a single knob and trigger. Torch fatigue is a very real thing, but the Big Shot eliminates the strain of holding the trigger down. Rather, you need only pull the trigger once and the flame will hold so you can safely and comfortably adjust your heating angle. The Blazer Big Shot is rounded out by a generously sized butane chamber that will keep your refill frequency to a minimum. You can find the Big Shot in a decent selection of color options, including some that even glow in the dark.
The Blazer Big Buddy Torch
The Big Shot is impressive, but Blazer’s slightly smaller option, the Big Buddy, is nothing to sneeze at. In many ways, it’s similar to the Big Shot, including it’s intense 2,500°F temperature capability and its simple, straightforward design, perfect for novices and appreciated by aficionados. It gives you the option of one-touch flame deployment like the Big Shot but also offers a more classic mode that requires you to hold the trigger to hold the flame, (we guess just in case you miss the old school struggle). Unique to the Big Buddy is a safety lock that must be disengaged prior to each use. This is perfect for the jet setting dab enthusiast or simply for those of us who share the house and want that extra sense of security.
Every Blazer torch model is crafted with dabbing in mind and you can feel that in every one of their features. Torches with modest flames might be able to work for a nectar collector, but real rigs need a substantial flame. While some users new to dabbing can balk at the cost of a Blazer torch, we need only point to the conservation of butane offered by these products when compared to cheaper dab torches. Depending on how often you dab, a Blazer could actually end up paying for itself in butane savings. But even if money’s not an object for you, Blazer torches have so many benefits that you’ll doubtless consider it a priceless dabbing accessory.
