Fadespace Silicone Carbide (SIC) Insert
New Tech: Silicon Carbide
Silicon Carbide is a synthesized super-ceramic that very rarely occurs naturally. It is one of the most versatile and widely applicable ceramic materials of the 21st century, and is employed in a myriad of different industries ranging from medical implants and personnel ballistic armor to high temperature mechanical components, heating elements, and semiconductor industry related devices. It has an extremely high melting point of 4954* F, is totally chemically inert, and possesses thermal and physical characteristics that make it an ideal vaporization surface, such as it's exceedingly high thermal conductivity of 120 W/mK (80x greater than fused Quartz).
Silicon Carbide produces a notably thick and flavorful vapor, and vaporizes material extremely efficiently due in part to it's high conductivity. Silicon Carbide is extremely physically resilient and will not chazz like fused Quartz, and short of damaging an insert through physical trauma, Silicon Carbide accessories should last a lifetime with proper care.
The specific grade of material we utilize also possesses a US Pharmacopeia Class VI Medical Grade Certification & FDA recognition, which very few vaporization surface materials can boast.
